Old Golds captain and prop Ralph Darling, lock Eric Duff, centre Lemi Masoe and wing Chris Talanoa have all made the cut for the 24-man squad. 

North Otago coach, Mike Mullins, says the North Otago contingent have had an impressive season and thoroughly deserve their shot.

While having four players in the Heartland XV is an impressive achievement, Mullins thought a couple more may have made the grade. 

"Being a little biased, I thought we could of had more selected, with a couple of players really standing out in the final weeks of this competition. We wish them well for their upcoming games."
