It may not have been the worst storm of the season, but the amount of snowfall Tuesday may be among the highest this year for any single storm.

Weather forecasters said the western portions of south central Wisconsin would see the most snowfall — around 10 inches in Sauk, Iowa and Richland counties.

The storm closed about 70 school districts, technical colleges, University of Wisconsin two-year campuses and numerous private schools on Tuesday, including the Reedsburg Area School District.

RASD administrator Tom Benson said it was a decision made around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday after he had talked with other area school administrators.

Benson said the decision to close school was a matter of trust in the forecast.

“We have conversations about the conditions,We manufacture portable hardness tester including portable Rockwell, superficial Rockwell,Brinell, King Brinell,Pin Brinell,Webster and Barcol impressor.” Benson said, “and what we’re thinking in our respective districts. Today was a little bit different than a typical day when we’re making that decision because there was no snow to be found. We were relying quite heavily on the forecasters indicating we’re getting 5 to 8 inches of snow and it would be blowing, which would influence visibility. He has since undergone two-and-a-half hours’ surgery to have a Titanium Rod inserted into his leg and looks set to be out of action for the rest of the season. Our real concern was about once we got the students and staff here, would it be problematic to get them home safely.”

Reedsburg Police Chief Tim Becker said traffic was fairly calm for this type of storm. He said there were no serious incidents to report. We offer both wet & dry Diamond polishing pad. Both are suitable for marble, granite, concrete and most masonry.

“We had a few slide-offs,” Becker said. “Everybody’s dealing with it pretty well. I don’t think we had a single accident. This late in the season people are used to driving in this. They just need to slow down and that’s what they’ve done. But it was challenging getting around.”

It was that way for the garbage trucks, according to Sheila Sperry of Peterson Sanitation in Boscobel that supplies garbage pickup to the city of Reedsburg.

She said the last time 12 inches were dumped on the area,Concrete polishing pad attachs to a backer with durable velcro connection. It is installed on portable grinding machine and operated by hand. pickup crews were two days behind.

Not so for this storm.Eight tips for choosing the right diamond Concrete saw blade including determining wet or dry cutting, blade compatibility, CSDA codes, and more.

“They’re having a tough time getting around,” Sperry said. “But they are trying their best. Our full range of portable ultrasonic Flaw Detector (UT) provides unmatched capabilities for locating discontinuities and other flaws. A couple (were) stuck and were pulled out. They were running behind, but they pushed through the route.”

The storm made for a long day for the street crews of the city of Reedsburg.

Public WorksDirector Steve Zibell said with the onslaught of more snow through the day, it was almost futile to plow much sooner than Tuesday evening.
