The AFM kicked off its 2013 season with some familiar faces taking wins while a new one made his intentions known to the rest of the paddock. Reigning champion Ricky Corey would hold on for the win in the first Bay Area Riders Forum Formula Pacific race of the year, edging out veterans Lenny Hale, Jeremy Toye and Chris Siglin.

The rider of the day though had to be 16-year-old Tucker Lancaster, who would take his Pirelli-equipped YZF-R6 to two wins, a second place and a sixth place in Formula Pacific, beating out many 1000cc machines in the process. A third win was a near certainty until a mechanical DNF left the young Lancaster pointless instead. After an exciting preview in Open Superbike, Bay Area Riders Forum Formula Pacific would see its largest grid in recent memory as a swarm of racers tried their luck in the AFM's most competitive class. Other notable racers included Mike Nigliazzo who beat class champion Berto Wooldridge in Formula 1 for his first ever AFM win and Jason Catching who rode his SV650 to wins in 650 Production and 650 Twins. The first race of the season also brought out a fresh class of Novice racers.
