Write Here Now is calling for the thoughts and faces of residents for their growing Festival of Arts and Whitsunday Voices Youth Literature Festival project.
They hope to compile an online blog about what it's like to live in Mackay and create two artistic images of what an average male and female in Mackay looks like.
Community arts facilitator Elouise Quinlivan said it was exciting that they didn't know what the end product would look like.
"With the online blog, we are asking people what it's like to live in Mackay," she said.
"It is not exclusively for youth."
