If Disney gets to organise doomsday at least it would be funny, as we enjoyed a gag-laden introduction to the show.
Of course, there was some special effects magic as we “boarded” a space station and endured a strike by a meteor shower.
Afterwards, having survived Armageddon, there was only one thing for us grown-ups to do... celebrate with a happy-hour drink!
Food and drink at Disneyland is not cheap. So when you can get two decent German beers for the price of one (expect to pay €6 or so a pint – ouch), it’s hard to resist.
We’d left the Studios and walked to the adjacent Disney Village, which contains an array of bars and restaurants plus a balloon ride and a shop selling lightsabers where it’s almost compulsory to muck about with one.
Having enjoyed those drinks, we strolled back past our hotel to the park proper for a couple of big rides before dinner.
